Heather with two moms
by Rose RiverHeather sounds like she is the offspring of Rilo Kiley and Emmy Lou Harris. I had a chance to listen to her live in an intimate house concert. I don't think I'll ever forget how incredible her voice was, and if you listen to these songs... maybe you'll think she's good. Get a chance to hear her live, and you might never stop listening to these.
My favorites are Alone in TN, Brown Jacket, River to Cross, Apalachicola and Josephine in that order. ;-) But I love them ALL.
how great is this album?
by constant listenerIf commercial country radio stations just creep you out, this album will restore your faith in the genre. These great songs are sung & arranged so well that you can't imagine them sounding any other way after hearing this album from start to finish. (Playing it from the finsih to the start is equally as fine a sequence too.) Remember when you say Gillian Welch's Revival sitting on the shelf at the music store ages ago? And no one had heard of her yet? This is just that same sort of album you'll be thanking yourself later for trusting in your gut. Buy it, listen, rinse, and repeat.
