Smoking Brass Fusion

     

I first heard Afroskull used as bumper music on the Randi Rhoads Show on Air America Radio. "Kill Whitey" was the tune and it comes off like a 70's cop show theme on the new millenia's roids. The attack of the brass here is off the charts. It sounds at times like the brass section's heads are going to pop off from the pressure logjammed behind the bell of their horns. This whole disc is a great, smoking load of mostly instrumental hardcore funk/fusion. Best song on the disc is "Curiosity," which features vocals and a very retro-urban black feel. This is a record you'll bring out when you've got some trusted friends around because you just know they'll go there with you. A very good kind of underground, not mainstream, record. Enjoy!
