Sadly underrated/Off the radar
by jaimelamusiqueI heard about Jason Brody through a friend of mine in New York. This record floored me when I got it. The comparisons to Jeff Buckley are definitely appropriate, but there seem to be all sorts of influences in this dark and complex music--'80s pop, acoustic Americana, sometimes Radiohead, and others. Seems like Jason has moved on to a more "rock" setup with the band The Death of Jason Brody, but this intimate debut is also not to be missed if you like your singer/songwriters to have a bit more depth.
