This album is interesting for its extremes. The trite (not necessarily bad) and the beautifully haunting all in one place. The best tracks on the album are the most introspective. The primary song writer, Bill Deasy, a regular in the Pittsburgh club and cafe scene, is at his best when he's spilling his innermost feelings of insecurity and loss. "Beautiful Land" and "Right Where You Want Me" are the two best tracks on the album. If you are ever in Pittsburgh and can catch a Bill Deasy show, do so. Either by himself or with some of his regular backers, he'll leave you wondering why you've never heard of him before. But then, if you are reading this review, you probably already know who he is. If i-Tunes could get his other work -- at least two albums worth of really top notch song writing -- that would be great.
