A Must See
by Redlands MikeShawn Jones is talent. I have been fortunate to see him live in small venues. His guitar playing is amazing and his songs are great. I highly recommend to anyone to pick up his albums and if you have the chance to see him live do it you will not regret it. Its a great music experience. If you love Rock and Blues Shawn Jones is an incredible talent everyone should get to know.

I don't know much about the inspiration behind musical styles and genres, but I do know what music moves me and I think Jones' classic songwriting style is something that's missing in much of mainstream music. He opts for expressive, emotive lyrics and natural melodies rather than the catchy streaming clichés that seem to define so much of what's heard on the radio today .. in other words, these are songs listeners can really relate to.

Starting with the straightforward "Runnin' Out of Time to Run," Jones makes an early statement that this isn't going to be just one type of sound or style. "Abounding Love" is the kind of song that has such a strong, resonating structure it wouldn't be surprising to hear it on the radio or played during a solemn moment in a film.
In an era when most records sound overly "studioed" out, Jones seems to be reveling in the quiet art of simplicity. Mixing style with thought-provoking lyrical content, "The Shawn Jones Band" has a reverence for the past, present and future. All in Good Time is a CD that suggests that songwriting comes very easily to this musician.
