Great American Music!
by Jerry JodiceI do a weekly independent music podcast called The Great American Music Hour (available on iTunes) and have often played Riviera, whom I consider to be a great American band. This album swings between rock 'n roll ("Unsatisfied") to a country waltz ("Your American Past") to a two-step that could have been on Neil Young's first or second album ("This Missionary Life"), and all of it infused with Riviera's unique musical sensibility. If you like great songwriting tied to a very American sound, this album is for you.
