Folk Prophet

Danny Schmidt is the best artist i've ever experienced. Period. Every song will find it's way into your soul to nourish you like a good friend. Having seen him perform in some very intimate spaces, he's a musician that reeks of blood, sweat , tears, and the stuff that makes us human. He has one of the most interesting and delightful voices that will always lure you like a cobra out of a basket. Bottom line purchase all his work because he is a true artist getting by on his lifeblood. This album is a live show and it is extraordinary.

Terrific album start to finish

I sat on a concrete floor in the crowded basement of a place called Tokyo Rose to listen to a guy sing songs from his debut album. Danny sat on stage, seemed totally nervous, mumbled some kind words to the crowd, then floored us with some of the most amazing guitar and lyrics many of us had heard in years. The album never grows tired and the background narrative he shares about many of the songs makes each one hit home. Great album. Great artist.
