Album Review

On [R]evolution, Chris Randall continues the stylistic experimentation he began to explore on Metropolis, with more mixed results. Still, there are enough strong moments to make the record an overall success, even if industrial-based alt-rock had fallen out of favor with most of the mass listening public by 1999.

SMG delivers a distinct sound on [R]evolution that sometimes upholds and sometimes subverts what has come before. Where it deviates from the classic industrial sound is where [R]evolution shines. Songs like Carbon Copy, Vibrator, and Strange really stand out. Try it. You just might like it.
