by texasraisedBlaze was a songwriting genius. Great friends with Townes Van Zandt, another great song writer. Lucinda Williams cites Blaze as one of her biggest influences. He was an Austin, TX legend, and I wish I had been born before he died so I could have seen him play. Buy the whole album
terrific songwriter - an american original

Wow. I can see why Lucinda Williams and other talented song writers who knew him were so moved. So much of the real pathos of human existence can be heard in the simple tremor and tone of his voice. This man wrote songs straight from his heart. Modest songs that deal with limited horizons but delivered with tremondous depth and sincerity. There is a quality to them that is timeless.
