Driving, brash, strange
by stellalMorex Optimo makes me feel like I’m living back in the late eighties, or maybe early nineties. But unlike so much eighties music (and new music made to sound like it,) MO doesn’t have the draggy, melancholy heaviness. It manages to be serious (and smart—especially the lyrics, which are interesting, literary, even catchy), yet driving and brash. It’s good stuff, and their new album is even better. This is definitely a band to become acquainted with, drink in, and WATCH. They’re going to be the next big thing (or already are, probably.)
