Listen to this album more than once!
by _Jen_The first time I listened to this album, I thought to myself, oh, Robin, you're a great friend (she gave me the CD cause my mom and I are friends with her), but I'm not so sure I like your music. But I listened to the music a couple more times, and let me tell you, it definatley grows you! So if you buy any of her music and don't like it at first, listen to it again every once in a while, and you /will/ notice that you start to like it.
If nothing else, at least buy the songs "Theory of Noise" and "The Last Time I Saw You." Those are by far the best tracks on this CD.
Moving, thoughtful music
by AmoebaCFMI saw this duo live at Bumbershoot in Seattle and they were simply amazing, perhaps even better than they are on recording. Yet, still, their CD is inspiring. Robin Coomer has such a voice, that only the intensity (and versatility) of a cello could match it.
If nothing else I suggest you at least buy "The Last Time I Saw You"
Are you kidding?
by Antonio DeEversI friend tried to get me into this duo, and I just can't. The singer is above average, but the musical compositions are sophomoric at best. He took me to a live show, and it seemed like they weren't even aware of how out of sync they were. I get the concept, using the "loopstation" guitar pedal to loop riffs into songs, but they are just not that clevar. At first, there is a certain charm to seeing a cello and vocal duo, but when that wears off, it's just bland self-absorbed average-minus.
