Art Rock At Its Finest
by pai gowI downloaded Carptree's debut after having already acquired the later releases. The sonic journey here is almost unbelievable. Many would compare Niclas Flinck to Fish but on this set of tracks his voice and lyrics are reminiscent of classic period Strawbs albums such as Bursting At The Seams, Hero and Heroine or Ghosts. The keyboard work adds a whole level of expression. It is necessary to give it several listens in order to appreciate all of the effort that was put into this production. Carptree are fine artists.
