Great, but crazy band!!

by MrCritic94

I saw the Hungry March Band perform at Coney Island's opening day, April 1, 07. They performed "Vjerin Cocek," "Watusi," and "Jupanese Ju Ju." Amazing performance!! Adorned in pink/white-striped stockings, wearing gorilla masks, and eating fire, freaks and freakish band members made the whole boardwalk shake. Awesome.

Brass Is The New Punk

I saw these guys play live at The Knitting Factory once before. A16-27 piece marching band (depending on who decides to show up to a gig that night), including a baton-twirler in naughty fishnet stockings. They played Bollywood standards, New Orleans funeral tunes, and some things I remember from 9th grade pep band. It was a riotous, debaucheries, noisy good time.

Of course, their recorded album can’t capture the spontaneity or energy of a live gig, but it’s still a good listen.
