The best band you've never heard of !!
I have seen these guys play live on too many occasions to count. Please do yourself a favor and listen to this album. Every song is a gem, my personal favorite being "40 Steps to Rhona". You can put this on and listen to it over, and over, and over. Be the cool one who heard of them before everyone else did and introduce them to your friends. A local Somerville journo once said, and I can't say it better myself (so I won't), "Neil Young and Leonard Cohen's love child as nannied by Bob Dylan. Uncle Shaker is an Americana band able to rock the electric as easily as they can break a lady's heart."
fun stuff
This band is incredible live and everyone I know listens to their cd religiously. You are missing out if you are not mixing it up with Uncle Shaker!
Americana?
That's what they term their music. I find it to have a blend of blues and folk with some great sound. The addition of the trumpet and viola makes these guys different. Certainly worth seeing live in the Boston area, and a steal at $.99
