Swing / Punk / Soul, or "Cake meets Booker T."
by Glenn FitzpatrickAbe Lincoln Story is a kind of “swing / punk / soul” band, or as their lead - Steve Moramarco - also put it, “Cake meets Booker T”. I could definitely notice the Cake influence, but not so much the Booker T. sound. It sounded a bit also like surf-rock (especially the song “Rock Paper Scissors”) at times as well. The lyrics are off-the-wall enough to make me think of They Might Be Giants, but rather simple - instead of songs about American presidents, here you’ll find songs about playing rock / paper / scissors, or not needing a bag at the grocery store. See what you think - as for me, I think Abe Lincoln Story is pretty fun!
