So many amazing memories

by NLaBruiser

Well, I'm friends with the bassist. So I guess that makes me a bit biased. I've been around since the early days of ProAm, and I was true fan until they broke up a few years back.

This CD was the first full release, and many of the songs are ones I saw them perform over the years at many local venues around Springfield, MO. Placebo is a good opening track, although truth be told tracks 2 and 3 make up my favorite back-to-back pair on the whole album.

The unique vocals, rhythmic guitar melodies, and driving bass lines (....Go James!) really have a grunge / garage sound going for them. Yet somehow, they also maintain a purity of sound that you don't normally see paired with those styles. And don't mistake "grunge" for long-haired hippies singing about angsty love stuff - these guys are true rock 'n' roll.

While the band may be no more, I will always keep this CD in my car. The tracks remind me of some of the most fun nights I've ever had, and that fact that it really is amazing music only adds to the memories. I recommend this album to anyone who loves great music, and who enjoys promoting bands outside of the local top 40.
