I love Big Phony
by scaremongeringA couple months ago on a night with nothing to do, I decided to go down to the lower east side of nyc to check out some live music. I ended up at one of my favorite acoustic venues, The Living Room, and happened to stumble across Big Phony and became immediately enamored with his music. Truly heartfelt songs with beautiful melodies - remniscent of great singer-songwriters such as Elliott Smith, Aimee Mann, Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine, etc. 'Everything-Always' has quickly become one of my all time favorites; 'Dying Unaware' is just simply gorgeous. I really believe we'll see big things from Big Phony in the near future. Keep an ear out!
