Gregory is an incredibly talented singer/songwriter
by hiwayman17I discovered Gregory Douglass right here on iTunes. I listened to a few songs and was immediately hooked. I have since developed a deep appreciation for his voice and the songs he writes.
Stark is my personal favorite. Though I own all his CDs and strangely find that I love ALL the songs, there is something about Stark that goes a bit further for me. If there is a stand out song on this album for me, it is Where Did the Music Go? The song has an extremely haunting feel to it--and I mean that in a good way. The other stand outs for me are the songs that follow it--Dry and Alibis. In Dry, listen to how Gregory breathes...it adds to the depth of the meaning of this song.
I have been able to see Gregory Douglass live twice. The most recent time in Oct 2009 at a house party concert. This was my first house party concert and it is an awesome venue for Gregory because his personality seems so suited to small intimate gatherings and things don't get any better than being a few feet away from such a talented person! Look for a house party near you on his website...you won't be disappointed.
Greg Should Go Places
by Escape ToneMr. Douglass is one of the most emotive singers I've heard in a while, and a true musical prodigy. Despite the fact that his mother is a music teacher (and a darned good one, I might add), Gregory doesn't read music, which makes his piano riffs and songwriting all the more impressive. I can't wait for him to get as big as he deserves to be.
Excellent CD
by FlattGregory's voice is powerful and graceful, a pleasure to listen to. I bought this CD a few weeks ago, and can't stop listening to it! His voice soars in "Under the Gun" and "Better Tomorrow" - two of my favorites. I look forward to more music from this incredible artist!
