Who Knew?
by DetroitArtistI've always been a fan of Jeff Daniels, the actor, so I was a bit surprised to hear he would be appearing at the ribbon cutting ceremony of the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. Daniels chose "Michigan, My Michigan" during his soundcheck, and I thought it was fantastic. There aren't a lot of songs written about the State of Michigan, and this is certainly a track that celebrates the heritage and beauty of the Great Lakes region. Mr. Daniels has a fine voice as well, and it was great to see him get some well deserved exposure as a vocal talent.
I'm a fan.

by Bronco46It turns our Jeff is a really talented man. I mean by that in more ways then just his acting ability. These self written and performed songs are always entertaining and in some cases touching. In one of his songs he mocks actors who think they can sing, but, he really can do it and do it quite well. As a fellow Michigander I might be accused of bias, and as it turns out I discovered Jeff's talent by accident when I downloaded his song Michigan My Michigan. I'm really glad for that happy accident since it helped my add these very good songs to my library. Listen and you'll buy!
Funny, funny, funny!

My husband and I first heard Daniels perform two of these tracks on a public radio station program and we laughed so hard, we thought we'd hurt ourselves. Give it a try. Plus, money from the sale of the album goes to a very worthy cause - a performing arts center in Daniels' home state.
