The ep is Much Better

by Ray Boozer

This is an lp indicative of a band at a pretty low point in its career. The production is very, very bad - mix, master, even the tracking is bad.

The holdovers from the Dead Man's Vitamin ep are good songs, as well as "Save Me," "Like a Drug," and "Last Time," but there are some really, really awful songs on this album. And this version of "Amphetamine" is not in shuffle time like the original; it has no swagger. It's a shell of the original version.

This was recorded after Damon Johnson left and before Chase joined, so Jason Marchant is the vocalist. Fans of Virgos Merlot and ViRGOS will not recognize his voice as suggested by someone else, because Brett Hestla was the vocalist for Virgos Merlot and Marchant wasn't even in ViRGOS. His vocals here are okay, but this incarnation of the band lost a lot of momentum and needed a change.

Chase and Carl provide that change, and it looks like the newer material is pretty awesome. Don't buy this whole disc though.

The Rock Review

this band rocks i saw them in montgomery when they opened for the goo goo dolls and they were way better than the dolls

Decent, but better with Damon at the helm

by Cell0518

As with another reviewer, I feel this band was better with Damon Johnson (Brother Cane / Slave to the System) as frontman. His vocals are proven and the whole EP clicked with him at the front. The replacement isn't bad, but I liked it better as an EP. check it out at cdbaby.com. (Red Halo - Dead Man's Vitamin EP)
