Added Dimension
by Viking AceDaryl brought an added dimension to the live music performances of Genesis and this work adds a studio dimension that is worthy of the originals. As a jazz rendition of these songs, it is an excellent work. Even for non-Genesis fans, if you like instrumental jazz than this is a good work.
A Must Have Item
by JibrilAbdFor those who may not know, Daryl Stuermer played guitar and bass for the British rock band Genesis at their live concerts between 1978 and 1992. He was made, according to Phil Collins a "permanant part-time member" of Genesis after the departure of guitarist Steve Hackett. Daryl is also a permanant member of Phil Collins' band and has played on all of Collins' solo albums (except 'Both Sides') and concert tours from Collins' first album ('Face Value') in 1981 to present. He will also be accompanying Genesis this year (2007) on their first tour featuring the Banks/Collins/Rutherford lineup since 1992.
"Another Side Of Genesis" features a list of Genesis songs that Daryl has an affection for and decided to play in instrumental form. It features some fine guitar playing and craftsmanship by an incredibly gifted and talented guitarist. A "must have" item for all Genesis/ Phil Collins enthusiasts and jazz guitar buffs.
