Black Night Falling

by ol' bilk

If you get a chance to see this Madison, WI group live, especially at an outdoor blues festival, take it and hear 'em wail those Lost Sheep Blues. They combine the West Coast jump-swing sound with the traditional blues genre-do I hear some of "the Wolf" in that voice?- to get you rockin' and swayin'. Especially check out Juju and '48 Blues for something a bit different. Also check out their other album on ITunes, The Royal Treatment, and the tunes Why Did I Start and I'd Be A Liar. This is some great stuff to put on a driving mix disc or podlist. Keep it up boys!

Good ol' blues

This is a nice follow-up to their opener (Live at the King Club), with more original songs. They're still keeping that 40's-50's ol' Chicago feel to their music; it's not like the polished and slicker stuff that's put out brand new these days. Billy Flynn adds some nice spice to the mix. This is a solid buy.
