very new orleans blues/funk, which means it's upbeat and fun but also soulful. jake is a pretty much a legend on the harmonica in NOLA, don't miss out on his stuff. it will really move you, inside and out! he's got a lot more than this out there, too, and i hope iTunes gets some more recent albums asap. i love the feeling of this album, in particular the songs with maria muldaur on them, but the whole thing is really solid and inspired. see jake and his band live, too, if you ever get the chance, he's one of the best showmen you'll ever have the privilege to see get an audience groovin.....
