Great!

by shmu77

This album is great!! The colors that 4 bass clarinets brings to the table in this album is incredible. The part writing by Boots is so masterful. He uses all the different ranges, colors and timbres that the bass clarinet has to offer, many of which nobody has every heard before. As I have played some of these works that were written by them including Big Bottom I can tell you that they are brilliant pieces of art. Edmund Welles really combines so many different genres of music with this album. Two thumbs up!!

A Journey to the rhythmic depths of the soul with bass clarinets

This recording is a wonderful rhythmic romp at times and an intense pulsating organ at other times. The heavy metal covers at the end - the only one I knew before was Spinal Tap's Big Bottom which seems like it may have been made with four bass clarinets in mind at first!
Take this journey with Cornelius Boots as he leads you through the ideas of Cornelius Aggrippa's 3 Books set to music.
