Why?
by Whatever4321God, it is so very hard to find good music these days. A band that started off with two members, creating such an onslaught of melody. I could care less about other reviews and or the lack there of. This band is amazing. Yet the rumor has it that they are done with the music scene, what a waste. I guess now a days anything coming too close to good music is pushed aside by the commercial monotone sounds of some ad band. This album is worth the buy.
Soft on Drugs, Hard on You
by methadroneBig Soy is a band that writes and plays music that is significantly larger than their two-man guitar and drums lineup. This collection of Big Soy captures the passion and energy of their strongest material, but uses the studio as a third instrument, opening up an exciting new range of opportunity and life for these great songs. Case and point, the song "Nashville" is a staple of Big Soy's live set, a terse song of lost love with an achingly memorable guitar and vocal melody that usually ends up in a orgy of feedback, broken strings, and nudity. Here it is reimagined as a punk-dub song that feels as real as the original. Similarly re-imagined is the song "Northern Squall," adding a breathy beauty to the vocals. Other great tracks on this album include "Papasan," chronicling the life of the 24-Hour Party People relocated to Texas, "Sound of War," and "The Noise You Make."
