Dan is a musical genius. Homunculi the Marissa Tomei of albums deserving of an Oscar. Even the cover art is awesome.

Ok, for starters I just want to say I really connected with this EP when I first heard the soundclips of it on some website I bought it from I can't remember the name of. In it's best moments, the vocals and lyrics perfectly combine heartfelt sincerity with a sense of humor. Parallel Universes is the best example of that plus it sports a great little instrumental section of woo-wooming chords. The space sounds over the guitar are great. Maybe they are guitars. I guess I don't know what words to use to describe how good the music is, but it's awesome. Clockwork Family works in the same way except without the spacey sounds and feel. I guess thats because it's a song with "clockwork" in the title and not "universes". It's a real precise broken chord guitar part.

The other songs don't balance quite as well as those two. So Much Better and Fly aren't bad songs by any means but they are kind of sappy love songs. So Much Better sort of has a suprise for you though. Breathing Up My Skin seems like it could improve if he took another wack at it. The song Who Are All These People? seems pretty good the first time, but really that's the only time it's very funny and the music isn't real timeless either.

Still, it's awesome and you should buy it if you like pop rock type music!
