Thank you!

Hi everyone. This is Shohei, the person performing the pieces on this album. I'd like to thank you all for your feedback, including the ones that have given me less than stellar reviews. I did not expect people to care so much as to put reviews on an album that I made with no expectations for sales. Surprisingly, I'm happy to report that over 12000 tracks have sold as of March 2009, and "The Sick Doll" from this album just got licensed by NBC for use in their TV show "Kings", currently airing.

Just so people are not disappointed with their purchase, I'd like to shed some light on why I made this album, and the intended audience of the album. I made the album to bring some light classical music to people who normally do not listen to classical music. The intended audience are people who want to listen to something pleasant, light, and non-obtrusive, in the background, perhaps while dining, reading a book, studying, or taking a walk or a pleasant drive. This is why the recordings sound the way they sound. I hope that helps you decide whether you want to purchase the tracks or not.

Thank you so much for your consideration, and thank you for taking the time to show that you care about music.

Hear us out people!

Don't just ignore this because of the bad rating! I agree with many people in saying that yes, this music does not have nearly enough expression for the songs performed. I played Morning Prayer by Pyotr Ill'ych Tchaikovsky on the piano and have the sheet music for it, and it is one of the most dynamically diverse songs by him! trust me and the other people saying this, this music is serene but without the dynamics it's a plain line of boring melody without any feel. Dynamics are what make some songs great, and songs without them are usually not going to be appreciated nearly as well. Also, the lack of dynamics completely ruins the build-ups and lead-ins. I just got back from performing at a baroque music festival, and the judge was very specific in telling me that my upbeat to a single slur was too loud and encouraged me to practice that only for a while. THAT'S how dynamically exact and diverse good music is and has to be!

Sounds like a robot

I bought the album before listening to the samples. Like everyone is saying, it is expressionless. It sounds like a robot playing a piano. I'm disappointed.
