Talented singer, songwriter and guitarist

I agree that his songs could get play on the radio if it weren't for the F-bomb. He has a message to which many out there can relate. He "feels their pain."

The sight of musical outlaw Moon Dog, lead singer/guitarist/principle songwriter of Arizona rock outfit DoG of the MooN, sitting on the proverbial "crapper" with guitar and brew in tow, while utterly hilarious, simply does not do the man's vast talent justice. Nor does seeing his forboding 6'8 frame (he could have been a heckuva rebounder) necessarily imply the "musical" greatness listeners await. Yet, rock and roll was built on contradiction and inventive combination, and the moment the man begins to sing, every single preconception imaginable is immediately lifted.

On album opener "Sundowner", he croons "Gotta get some booze back in my blood!" with such intoxicating earnesty you truly feel compelled to join him in excess yourself, even despite his dark descriptions of the consequences. The song's somber instrumentation perfectly recreates the contemplative feeling that often pervades an early morning after the bottle's kept you up all night, but it's ultimately Moon Dog's beautifully gritty delivery that serves the song especially well.

Other album highlights include: "Detonator Blues" (with it's whirl-wind, stutter-step vocal delivery), "Problem With The B*****s", (perfectly custom-tailored to be drunkedly sang at last call by every man at the bar going home alone, and I'm sure even a few who aren't), and "One Foot In The Grave" (featuring some of the best guitar work on the entire record once the song morphs from light guitar swagger to rip-roaring, psychedelic madness). Sadly, iTunes lacks the hidden track, "Quit My Job", a bonus on the initial CD pressing featuring one of the most tripped-out anti-establishment rants EVER put to tape, digital or otherwise.

Just terrific! A wonderful voice and great lyrics. Might make
radio play if he cleaned up some lyrics, skip the profanity,
even though it is needed to tell off the boss. Must buy, you
will enjoy it and you will be singing about the B*****es for
days. My favorite.......
