iTunes Review
With the majority of the 15 songs on its self-titled album barely grazing the two-and-a-half-minute mark, The Futureheads nimbly pack huge, spastic punches into each. The post-punk quartet's angular guitars and percolating drums propel each tune breathlessly into the next, while somehow adding agile time change twists and lots of polished flourishes. What's most impressive, however, is its handling of vocals - with all of its members providing playful echoes, call and responses, and new millennium-styled round robins - that volley infectiously throughout each song. Its melody-driven vocal layering sparkles on the exuberant "Decent Days And Nights" and "Man Ray," while "Danger Of The Water" slowly unfolds in a cappella. Covering Kate Bush's "Hounds Of Love" points out the band's only shortcoming, and that is its own lyrical subject matter can often be as breezy as the group's song lengths. All in all, the Futureheads's debut is wholly addictive and thrillingly fun.

Decent, all give it that.
by jqholterThis is not an amazing Sgt. Pepper's class worthy record. It isn't the best thin you will hear all year (unless you listen to mainstream radio it might be). They sound an awful lot like Gang of Four. But it is an okay record.
great album
by ashamthis Futureheads album flows really well, and the songs are catchy and fun to listen to. I saw them performing songs from this album in concert, they were opening for Franz Ferdinand, and I ended up liking their performance just as much as Franz Ferdinand's. After buying the album, I could not stop listening to it. This is worth buying for sure, there were no songs that I would skip over when listening to this album.
...and when I woke up it was 1981...
by EchorichThe Futureheads are the result of what happens when your XTC - Drums and Wires cd is sitting in your Gang of Four - Entertainment jewel case for too long...the perfect bastard child! Any band that can put this much power, emotion and raw energy into songs no longer than 3:15 is a rare fine thing indeed! The vocals make my pulse rate and my brain is shredded by the shards of angular guitar - BRILLIANT!!
