iTunes Review
Pam Tillis’ upholds her past standards on Rhinestoned, her first album in five years. Whether singing her own compositions or choosing outside material, Tillis always rooted her music in contemporary realities while tapping into country’s heritage for inspiration. Here, she unwinds with a set of top-flight tunes that give her vocals plenty of room to emote. Heartbreak-drenched ballads (“Someone Somewhere Tonight,” ”Train Without a Whistle”), wry story-songs (“Bettin’ Money On Love”) and playful honky-tonk numbers (“Crazy By Myself”) are all part of the mix. There’s a strong sense of local color to this album, whether Pam is shaking her head at progress (“Life Sure Has Changed Around Us,” a duet with John Anderson) or celebrating the scruffier side of Nashville (“Band In the Window”). Overall, the album has a relaxed sort of integrity to it, suggesting Tillis is more interested in making records that please her than in chasing the elusive radio hit. Rhinestoned is a welcome return by an artist who proves herself vital by just having fun.

True heartfelt music
by UnappreciatedI am not sure why Pam was never bigger than she was in the country music industry, or in the music industry altogether...to me, she is perfect...never too much vocal power, but you can tell at your first listen that this woman could sing anything! Pam has a knack for picking all the right songs and songwriters, and she seems to stay true to her familys country roots...nothing wrong with that! Personally, I think this album is too good for todays radio, and is probably better enjoyed at home with friends...what a great listen!
SA-WEEEEET

Pam Tillis is BACK!
by reno30This is a welcome return of one of Country music's best voices. This album is near perfect. Pam's wonderful voice shines throughout. The songs are tender and intimate. Pam does not hit you over the head with the song. She lets you feel it. The stand out cuts are "Band in the Window", "Crazy by Myself", "The Hard Way", "Something Burning out" and "Over My Head". The duet with John Anderson is a nice blend of their voices, but takes a few repeated listenings to fully enjoy it. Please do yourself a favor and get this album, you won't be sorry. Any lover of good music will enjoy it.
