iTunes Review

Like his previous best (Flowers In the Dirt, Tug of War, Band On the Run and even the shaggy glories of Ram) McCartney succeeds here by rising to a confluence of challenges that seem variously personal, artistic and/or professional. Writing from the perspective of an age (64) where Sgt. Pepper once famously found him wondering if anyone would still need — or feed — him, there’s an understandable sense of the elegiac at work in songs like “That Was Me,” “Ever Present Past” and “Vintage Clothes.” Crucially, MaCartney’s not taken his melodic knack for granted here, retrenching it in the restless sense of genre dabbling that’s always been the creative thread connecting his best work — inside or outside the Fabs. “Feet In the Clouds,” “House of Wax,” “The End of the End,” and “Nod Your Head” find him underscoring that notion with a most diverse and rewarding final quarter — a sensibility that segues gracefully into the trio of disparate performances contained on the album’s deluxe edition (“222” even finds Mac going convincingly post-modern).

Should be remembered as one of Sir Paul

by Willistron

Alot of people stopped following Paul after the break-up of The Beatles - not to say he didn't have millions upon millions of fans, but his fanbase fell just a little. However, one thing that people tend to overlook, is that every single solo outing Sir Paul has had is merely more very Beatle influenced and sounding music.
While Sir Paul was in The Beatles, dozens of the hugeley successful hits came from Paul and Paul alone (with some help of course in certain cases). My point being that his solo career isn't simply new music, it's more of what drove people mad in awe of their genius, and Paul's latest outing (minus the Firemen) is nothing short of breathtaking. While some tracks are better than others, I cannot point out a single throw away track, as Sir Paul has covered every genre and song type we've heard from him for the last 50 years.
So do yourself a favour and pick this one up, if not for me, do it for Sir Paul.

Great

This is a great album. I don't have much to say just listen to it and it speaks for its self. Also why doesn't he go by James?

Dull and uninspiring mix

In my opinion, after Beatles Paul's songs were mediocre at best. Either he burned out or the real genius behind his Beatle songs were John. George and John kept writing great songs after Beatles, not Paul. This album proves this point.
