iTunes Review

Released in 1981 when Rush was at the peak of its artistic and commercial powers, having scored back-to-back successes with 1980's Permanent Waves and 1981's Moving Pictures, Exit…Stage Left is the band's second double-live album and remains its strongest live album, cut for cut. From a band often known for its progressive tendencies, conceptual thrust and expanded compositions, much of what's represented here comes from the trio’s most immediately accessible material — "The Spirit of Radio," ""A Passage to Bangkok," "Closer to the Heart," "Freewill," and "Tom Sawyer" are among the band's biggest hits and crowd pleasers. That doesn't prevent Rush from indulging its instrumental wizardry. "YYZ" represents a serpentine instrumental jam complete with drum solo, "La Villa Strangiato" is a Herculean instrumental workout, and "Xanadu" is among the band's best extended work. But the emphasis is clearly on the tighter cuts from primarily the band's previous four studio albums. It's sometimes hard to imagine a power trio elucidating this much texture and nuance. But Rush was no ordinary power trio.

One of my favorite albums of all time and it's a 'partial album' ? Please just give me the whole damn thing. Shame on you Apple/iTunes for pulling something like this.

Album is fantastic. I listened to it for the first time when I was in seventh grade on my brothers record player - yes, as in vinyl records. I was mezmerized by the whole thing from beginning to end. Looks like I will have to have a friend give me the cd set so I can import it that way. If you like anything by Rush, you'll love every song on this album.

Too bad iTunes, I probably would have paid a good price for the whole thing.

What the Hell?

What is with this Partial Album crap? I love this album and I own the CD but what happened to The Spirit of Radio, YYZ/Drum Solo, Xanadu, Tom Sawyer and the other tracks? What is with itunes not giving the whole album this really p**s's me off this more p**s off Rush fans and this is not just happening on this kick a*s album its happening to albums all over itunes. I'm so clad I own the CD infact you should buy this at a CD store. All I'm just saying is that I'm mad that they got rid of half of this great Rush album so I just think they should get the full album back that's all.

The only rush album you will ever need
