iTunes Review
Stevie Wonder had been a pre-teenage prodigy with a handful of hits when he renegotiated his Motown contract at age 21. Music Of My Mind came first, but this 1972 album – which Wonder self-produced, wrote, and sang, while playing drums, harmonica, keyboards, and ground-breaking synthesizers – established the signature sound that made him a multi-platinum hit-maker for two decades. The album’s ten songs segue from ballads (“You And I,” “Blame It On The Sun”) and social commentary (“Big Brother”) to jazzy throwdowns (“Lookin’ For Another Pure Love”) and straightforward love songs (“Tuesday Heartbreak”). Beyond the pair of chart-toppers – the joyous “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life” and the crunching riff, rolling keyboards and punchy horn lines of “Superstition” – the claustrophobically dark, almost oppressively funky “Maybe Your Baby” offers the most memorable musical moments.

Talks to my heart
by solohansMy favorite here is 'I Believe'. I also like the funky 'Superstition'.
Fantastic
by ASTorresI heard this album when it first came out and was so impressed with the melodies and lyrics. I have always considered Stevie Wonder a genius and he has proven this over and over. The lyrics tell great mini stories and really allow you to day dream. They speak to and about actual events in life and seem to hit chords that one can identify. I wish age and time would not have interrupted Wonder's story book. I will shed many tears when this great musician passes.
