Description

Optimized for typing with your iPhone or iPod touch held horizontally (landscape orientation), Sideways presents a wider keyboard, giving you extra room for increased typing speed and fewer mistakes. Tap the action button and send the text to Mail, Twitterrific or Twittelator.

HIGHLIGHTS
• 5 user-selectable font sizes for easier authoring of text.
• Wider keyboard for better accuracy and increased typing speed.
• Text is saved between launches.
• Sideways provides more vertical space for typing than competing applications, including the built-in Mail application.
• User-selectable text magnification.
• Send to email (with option to use the first line of text as the subject).
• Send to Twitterrific or Twittelator.
• Handles all foreign and special characters.

SIDEWAYS TIP
Sideways can also be used to reply to or forward an email. Start in Mail and initiate the reply or forward. Open Sideways and type your text. Then just tap the "Send to Mail" action and the text will be inserted into the already-initiated message.

What's New in Version 1.5

- Improved user experience for the "Action" button.

- Added support for sending text to a second twitter application: Twittelator (works with either Lite or Pro).

Easy & Simple but only for short texts

Like a lot of folks, i bought this app to use when writing more than one-line e-mails. Interface really couldn't be simpler, and the thing works exactly as advertised. At least I thought it did.

Apparently only shorter entries can be transferred over to e-mail. Yes, the transfer happens, but for text beyond about 100 words, it doesn't happen. The words just disappear. It's an unpleasant surprise, since the app data mentions nothing about limits like this.

When I go back to Sideways I can see my whole text entry, but that's where it stays. And with the incredibly simple (i.e., limited) interface, the only other choice is to delete the entry entirely. Rather than lose what I wrote, I'm now copying it all by hand. Too bad this app doesn't come with a pencil.

Better then TouchType!

Sideways and TouchType are the best apps for this (less crashing and ability to foward reply to emails not just create new). I think sideways is better as you have a longer screen view and equal size keyboard....you get this by loosing a tiny bit of screen width.)

I have downloaded both apps....so now the race in on to see who gets landscape keyboard for SMS!!! i will pay more from either designer for this app!!

things i would like to see 1) landscape keyboard / view for every single thing on iphone! 2)ability to go straight to landscape without having to go to home screen.

all in all great app!

Nice App

I have been waiting for something like this ever since the App store opened.
